The “list”, the fear and the hope …
Your light from within is your home and your peace. That is all you need to let go of your fear. You create your own destiny. You can make wonders with it! Cynthia Carofilis
As a follower of my previous article, here I am sharing with you this lovely and powerful statement given to me by a close friend, as a quick introduction.
There are no coincidences in life, and not a single episode in it that is not meant to teach us something, if only we allow it! This is as well as the people walking in and out our lives, some tagged under “meaningful” and some under ________ (I’ll leave this one open for you to fill).
I have always looked at it as “the list” and imagined God writing down the names of people we will have to meet throughout our journey on earth, and putting it under our arms in the moment of our birth! (you must understand I was only child when I thought of it!). A list divided in 2 groups. The first contains the faces of those who are part of our family (for some, known as those we cannot choose) and the second group as the faces of those we attract to us, or should I say the qualities/personalities we draw to us? The “stand-by list”, as I know it. Here, those in the waiting line appear in our lives whenever we gather the conditions for that! It is obvious none of us has a clue on how and why this happens but at the end it is all about teaching and learning, it is all about giving and taking.
Because I am not an exception, my friend Cynthia popped into my slightly disoriented life with that thought, and more than just helping me go through that moment of fear and anxiety it inspired me to write about it, and taking into consideration that there are no coincidences I feel it as a natural and logical choice.
Doing some research I came across with this definition. Fear: A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid……. I particularly liked the “whether the threat is real or imagined” as if in that precise moment being real or not is important. The feeling is there period! and I guess that is the reason why we fear the fear, it is just so overwhelming, disturbing, devastating, nerve-wrecking, and stressful. It is one of those basic/strong emotions that take over, and considering we love being in control I really don’t think is a pleasant situation to be in.
There are different levels of fear which are activated by a variety of conditions. Every person reacts differently when faced with a distressing episode, and searching the cause that triggered the moment of fear may help to diminish all this wave of unpleasant emotions.
I must confess that being involved in the holistic side of medicine makes me aware of the vast possibilities to cure one’s disorders by using an un-invasive method, aiming to restore our balance. Today I wanted to share two with you. First because they are easy and fun to work with and second because there are easy to get.
Colour Therapy: a complementary therapy that uses colours such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet in order to resonate with the energy of each of our 7 chakras. Good health and wellbeing is achieved when all of our chakras/energies are balanced and applying the appropriate colour to the body helps to re-balance and/or stimulate these energies.
Violet
Chakra – Crown: can help a person to activate their psychic abilities. Purple can also help to restore memory loss and help to remove negative images that store in the brain. Purple represents belief and spiritual recognition that we are infinite beings.
Indigo
Chakra – Third eye: Can increase personal knowledge and intuitive skills. Indigo can also help to see things from a new perspective. Colour that helps to meditate.
Blue
Chakra – Throat: used to open a person up to the skies to freedom of expression. Working with this colour will help one to become open to their creative and artistic side. Blue is the breath and without the breath we die.
Green
Chakra – Heart: Helps to heal any traumas that a person has had or is facing within their life. It is a positive colour that represents hope and healing on all the levels of consciousness. It can also open one up to unconditional love.
Yellow
Chakra – Solar Plexus: can help a person to feel strong and have a sense of will to achieve in their life. It also helps people to let go of negative issues that are blocking them from moving on in their life.
Orange
Chakra – Sacral: This colour can also help to heal any sexual issues and relationship problems that we are faced with in our society.
Red
Chakra – Base. Red allows us to have the strength to release weakness of the soul and can help people to become more assertive.
Now that you have an idea of the meaning of each of them and how they can stimulate you, try to choose the ones that better suit your level of fear. Having in mind, what you think is activating it, and if you are having trouble finding the cause of this distressing emotion I will recommend you to use them all through different items, such as, a scarf, bracelet even underwear, so you are making sure your whole body is being re-balanced!
The importance of colour becomes obvious when we realise we are like a living rainbow. So do not forget to surround yourself with colour in all ways!, in your room, in your food, clothes, through Light!
My second recommendation is to use and abuse the Bach Flower remedies. I am sure most of you have already heard of them. For those who haven’t it is this simple and natural therapy of healing the body through the vibration of flower remedies. Bach discovered sickness as a result of the lack of balance between our personality/soul and our body. As being part of nature, flowers vibrate in harmony with all creation and that includes us. When negative emotions surround us for too long they eventually disrupt our balance and sickness appear.
For fear, Edward Bach discovered 5 remedies each of them related to a specific type of fear.
In case of an emergency and extreme fear, use the Rescue Remedy, 4 drops, 4 times a day and whenever needed!
Remember none of these optional therapies will substitute conventional treatment in case of an emergency but surely are a more natural way to heal ourselves. To gain confidence and restore our inner peace. You will soon realise that your negative thoughts will switch into positive having a brighter view over things! Do not let your fears take control…
